Pray the Rosary

Select a "set" of five mysteries for each recitation. Mysteries Each mystery is the focus of prayerful contemplation during the backdrop of the recitation of Hail Mary's, or "Ave's.".

The four sets of Mysteries are:

JOYFUL, SORROWFUL, GLORIOUS, & LUMINOUS

JPII Praying the Rosary at Fatima

1. On the crucifix: Make the Sign of the Cross and say the Apostles' Creed.

2. On the first bead above the crucifix: Pray the Our Father.

3. On the three beads: Say three Hail Marys (Ave's.)

4. On the chain/space before the next bead: Say the Glory Be to the Father and, optionally, "Oh My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy Mercy."

5. The next bead is the second Our Father bead and marks the beginning of the mysteries: Announce the first mystery and pray the Our Father.

6. On the first set of 10 beads: Say 10 Ave's while contemplating the first mystery. The Ave's are a background for revelation in communion with Mary and Jesus. Wonderful peace and faith deepening will come with this kind of prayerful contemplation of Our Lady's Rosary.

7. On the chain/space just after the 10 Ave's: Repeat the Glory Be to the Father and the optional prayers.

8. The next bead is the second Our Father and begins the second mystery. Announce and pray as you did throughout the first mystery. Continue with the third, fourth, and fifth Mysteries as above.

9. End on the rosary center by saying the three closing  prayers on Rosary Prayers (Hail, Holy Queen, etc.) and finally the Sign of the Cross.
